At Bravo1, we want to make sure our security officers are well prepared for their role. Security Officers have a serious responsibility to protect people, places, and assets, so it's important that our officers possess the knowledge needed to make good critical decisions, and that they maintain a physical fitness standards so they can take action during a threat.

All officer candidates must pass a physical fitness test upon hire and at their annual training recertification. Various physical components are combines into a timed obstacle course. Below are the starting standards, some sites may require increased standards. The below standards are in place for all ages and genders.

  • Must be able to run 1 mile in

Push-Ups: 
  • Men: Position Hands and toes shoulder-width apart with elbows fully extended. Lower your body so your elbows bend to 90 degrees. Keep a straight line from the toes to the hips to the shoulders. Push back up to the start position. That is one rep. 
  • Women: May use a modified push-up position with knees on the ground. Must maintain a straight line from the knees to the hips to the shoulders. 
  • Count how many reps can be conducted in one minute without breaking form. The below chart reflects the minimum required reps.

Planks: 
  • Position Hands and toes shoulder-width apart with elbows fully extended. Lower your body so your forearm is on the ground. Keep a straight line from the toes to the hips to the shoulders. Push back up to the start position. That is one rep. 
  • Time one rep, below is the minimum time you should be able to hold the plank.
